As most of our clients have come to Chiang Mai to retire or to consider retirement here they have tended to lean towards condo buildings as accommodations that match or better what they are accustomed to back home.

Requests do come in for budget accommodations so a page has been created to deal with accommodations are are safe, clean, and affordable, and designed more foreigners (farangs).

Almost booked solid thru the year these set of aprtments are extremely well cared for by the American owner. For about 2,800 you can get a furnished room with TV, balcony and all you have to do is bring towels and bedsheets. For 3,200 baht you get a room with a fairly new A/C.

As is customary with longer term rentals you have to pay power, and water based on usage. You can also have cable TV hooked up as well as internet. If you want the total for everything incl. internet and cable TV you will be looking at about 4,500 baht - 5,000 baht a month which equates to about $135 U.S.

The complex has a outdoor patio, washing machines, their own water tanks just and a little mini-mart inside the office.

Excellent value and that is why it is usually solidly booked. More farangs than Thai's living here.







A nice budget apartment. Location is the weak spot. Other than that it is clean, with a nice small restaurant on site, rooms have balconies and the price is 4,500 a month with a/c. So with everything incl. we would expect to pay 5-6k baht a month and that depends on the amount you use the air con.

If it was up to me I would select the complex above as the location is better as well as the price.

Here we have another nice set of apartments for about 1,800 baht a month. No internet though. So with everything incl. you will be looking at less than $100 U.S. a month.

Vendors cooking up fresh meals for less than a $1 U.S. and laundry, and convenience stores are nearby. Big C grocery mall is within 20 min. walking distance.

Very good value. Mainly Thai's residing here.
